Urban 4Do you remember when I mentioned that I have an urban side?

Like many of you who read this, my clothing choices have changed over the years i.e scene/skater/surf. My current style is always adapting to the needs of my day. As a member of a pop stylized band in 2015 it would seem slightly off if I wore a blazer, knit tie and herringbone pants on stage. I promise these changes didn’t happen over night, it is a process. If you are looking to develop your own style, recognize it is a journey. We all try to put out of our heads the styles of our past. For example, when someone likes the last photo in your Facebook roll, you cringe in viewing your former self. Although I believe that I have come through the phases we discussed above, there are always residual characteristics that creep into my personal style. Like life we utilize our past to speak into our present. For that reason, I love classic styling and I love urban elements. So why not marry them?

So recently in the media, I have seen jeans with designs above the knee and became interested to find out more. Come to find out their official term for them is, “Biker Jeans.”I have really been digging them and their added details. I decided to pick some up from H&M and found they are an easy way to style a simple outfit. You can wear them with just a basic T-shirt and I find they garner more attention than your basic jean.

The nubuck boots from Kenneth Cole have been a staple of my wardrobe and my go-to shoe for live shows. The comfort of the shoes allows for a full day of musical activities; loading in instruments, stage performances, studio time, and walking through cities.

Take 5 minutes to reflect on how your style has developed and consider how it has shaped who you are now.
