Graffiti Urban Outfit

I absolutely love street art.

Murals, graffiti, installations; I love it all.

I found some incredible art work and just had to shoot with it. For me this wall tells the story of a traveler. Someone who is moving forward and although they may not be in a situation that is favorable they continue to move.

There is a stigma that surrounds streetart and although some types are destructive there are true artists at work in cities attempting to bring their work to the walls. Graffiti (3 of 8)

My outfit was pieced together after the morning greeted me with light showers and a slight breeze. Feeling up for a city adventure I opted for a street style today. The practical side of my brain says to wear something water repellant, so I chose this jacket from J.Crew. While the jacket would function as a wind breaker I also needed some warmth to be added to the outfit so the military sweater you see here was the perfect choice. The sweater also added some texture to the outfit, a key when building with neutrals.

Olive and black are ALL over the place right now; for good reason! They pair so well and olive functions as a neutral. Sand/off-whites are also great pieces to be adding to your wardrobe as they can fit the role of a white shirt without the stark contrast. I grabbed this off-white garment dyed oxford from J.Crew last week and have worn it multiple times already when building urban looks. Light suede helps round out this look and provide a break in the black. Grab yourself some suede boots! Chukka, chelsea, and other variations of the suede boot are great pieces to have in your wardrobe. Graffiti (4 of 8) Graffiti (6 of 8) Graffiti (7 of 8) Graffiti (2 of 8)
