Outfit on the Pier

Before I existed, my mom was a nanny for a Navy family in Italy. I’m blessed they moved to the states and brought my mom with them otherwise…No David. Through the years our families have remained very close and I was given the opportunity to visit with them in Annapolis to celebrate my brother’s birthday. Besides being the capital of Maryland, Annapolis is home to the Naval Academy and is known as America’s Sailing Capital. Although this visit we weren’t able to get out on the water, I can tell you from experience that the Chesapeake Bay area is a true delight from the water.

A crisp afternoon greeted us in Annapolis, but I brought out a lightweight wool blazer to combat the breeze. Autumn is the perfect time for light layers! This particular blazer from Oscar de la Renta has some wonderful leather details and some ever so light blue lines visible up close. I decided these wonderful colors would be best paired with the fall shades in this button down. The faint blue in the jacket plays well with the blue found in the shirt. Florals should not be buried for the fall! Find warmer patterns like this one from Tie Society Japan, and you can wear your florals into the fall.

The laces that I’m wearing are a fun pop of color from a company in Australia called Bondi Laces whose goal is not just to make really fun, quality shoe laces, but also seeks to provide children in need with an education. With every pair of laces that you purchase, a week of schooling will be provided for a child in need. Bondi warranties their laces against any and all defects for ten years! Between their great color selection, mission to help, and outstanding durability, there is no reason that you shouldn’t spice up your shoes with these fun laces. The ones that I am wearing are their Navy Dress Laces with Gold tips, but other tip options are available like rose gold and silver!

The Seiko 5 SNZF Automatic Diver watch is my go to and you are sure to see plenty of it! I first received the watch as a best man gift and have really enjoyed making it my daily. While it is no Rolex Submariner, and I am no Sean Connery, I can’t help but feel a little more like Bond when pairing this with a NATO strap. I’ll save my review of the wire garrote, Geiger counter, and laser beam for later.
